COURSE DESCRIPTION
Art of the Theatre is a survey course introducing the student to the many and varied elements of theatre as well as creating an historical context for each of these elements. The course will be taught using a mixture of tools including: lecture, discussion, video presentations, reading assignments, classroom exercises, and practical experience.
OBJECTIVE
The purpose of this course is two-fold:
- Academic: Introduce you to the basic elements of theatre and to major dramas from the Greeks to modern times.
- Experiential: Enable you to discover and appreciate how theatre operates as an integral and relevant aspect of your life.
